A totally awesome book publishing house
Hmm. A fixed priced design and print quote sounds like a good idea. Most design companies charge by the hour or for additional alterations, but not here at Barbossa
A complete book design is one thing, but we offer you the added advantages of having access to an editor and stock image library
We won't just prep your book design file for the printers, but we'll source 5 print quotes for you and manage the print process for free
Whether you’re publishing a children’s book, a simple text-driven sales book or if your book required images, charts, graphs and quotes, we’ll make sure your book layout, font, positioning and cover design are all consistent; and that your book is typographically attractive, readable and engaging. Our experience with interior book layout ranges from simple text justified novels to the most complicated formats featuring various specialty printing and binding techniques, paper types, removable posters, glued-in pockets and much, much more.
We will start the process of designing your book cover by asking questions about your story, your theme and ideas. We can appreciate that no ones knows your story like you do, and we have no intention of taking that away from you. We’ll then provide you with some options to choose from and give you the oppurtunity to advise your feedback. We will repeat the process and keep designing until you have a book cover that you happy with.
Throughout the process of designing your book, we’ll take great care to make sure we are preparing it for the inevitable — being printed and reproduced at the highest quality and standards. Making sure your book is prepared properly for the printer of your choice is a big part of our job. We’ll make sure your files are prepared and press ready, following all the necessary guidelines your printer may provide. We use a number of printers, and are well versed in print-on-demand (POD) technologies and printer options. We’ll help guide you through the detailed process.
